Formed this LLC mid-year 2005 to establish a new product and market niche. GBCG, LLC stresses non-benefit related financial planning services for senior business executives. 

 

1996-Present

President/CEO, Boca Benefits Consulting Group, Inc.

In addition to traditional benefit plan consulting, developed and guided market entry of a new insurance product and related reinsurance for major client. Conducted all business planning and insurance product development functions for new company wholly owned by client.  Acting chief operating officer during company development.  Also assisted an offshore medical school in a plan for development of an offshore captive reinsurance company.  Completed a comprehensive business plan, identified an offshore insurance manager and assisted in the selection of an audit firm.

Participated in Harvard University ’s “Skills for the New World of Health Care” course in March 2004 in conjunction with health care leaders from throughout the U.S. , as well as with many international attendees.

1990-1995

Benefits Consultant, AJG & Co., Boca Raton , FL

Responsible for production of new consulting and brokerage services for large accounts. Primary clients accounted for $25 million in premiums.  Responsible for numerous corporate and public sector clients including publicly traded corporations,  mid-growth private sector companies, a large multi-state holding company, several Florida cities, a public sector consortium of employers, a start-up managed care venture associated with a nationally recognized medical organization,  and a Catholic archdiocese.

1986-1990

Regional Marketing Manager, EQUICOR

[Equitable Insurance Co. and Hospital Corp. of America joint venture]

Operated sales and service organization for entire state of Florida. Responsible for the integration of an acquired stand-alone HMO company with new parent operations and products. Integrated numerous duplicated facilities, staff and products. Member of management team which successfully completed company operational turnaround resulting in a substantial gain to joint venture partners upon acquisition by CIGNA in 1989-1990.

 

1990

Project Ocean Search - The Cousteau Society

Participated as a diver/photographer in the development of an underwater "eco-video" produced for use by students and tourists in the Fiji Islands. Sponsored by the government of Fiji and coordinated by The Cousteau Society.

1985-1986

Managed Care Consultant, Prudential Ins. Co. of America

Reviewed nationwide HMO operations.  Conducted feasibility studies in multiple cities leading to the development in South Florida of Prudential's first ground up "point-of-service" product integrating traditional group insurance with a stand alone HMO company.  Introduced new product to a major airline in 1985 as means of saving several million dollars per year on more than 10,000 covered employees. Assisted  airline management with plan transition for union members.  

 

1981-1984

Group Sales Manager, Prudential Insurance Co.

Responsible for sales and service of traditional group insurance products for entire state of Tennessee and portions of six south central states. Approximately 50 active clients. Placed several large employee groups (Service Merchandise, United Press International) and supported other Fortune 500 level accounts as local team member assigned to National Accounts ( Federal Express, Schering-Plough, Tennessee Eastman).

1980-1981

Home Office Group Insurance Underwriter, Prudential Ins. Co.

Responsible for proposal, change and renewal underwriting for traditional products for groups in excess of 50 employees. Largest group assigned 5,000 employees.

 

1978-1980

Production / Inventory Control Manager

Responsible for purchasing $15 million of raw material and components for an 800 employee commercial fishing vessel manufacturer in St. Augustine, Florida. Annual revenue of approximately $50 million on 200 launched vessels per year.
